K. Victoria Hernandez is a speculative fiction writer and aspiring conservation ecologist.
She is graduate of the Clarion Science Fiction & Fantasy Workshop, 2018. The granddaughter of Mexican and Guatemalan immigrants, her writing is often inspired by her heritage.
Born and raised in Southern California, she currently resides in the Los Angeles area as a PhD student at UCLA and the Institute of the Environment & Sustainability. Her research is interdisciplinary, combining ecological research and environmental narrative, with foci in animal movement, behavior, recovery, and how our stories may save us .
